Swadesi is a group of socially conscious rappers, writers, music producers and performers. The multilingual crew believes in ‘music with a cause’. Their independent single ‘The Warli Revolt’ (2019) made in collaboration with Prakash Bhoir, made rounds on the internet as an anthem against the destruction of Aarey Forest.
Prakash Bhoir is an Adivasi activist from Aarey, whose consistent initiatives have helped shed light on the condition of Adivasis in this forest.
Tarpa Dance - a traditional dance of the Warli community will be presented by the Adivasis of Aarey.
The performers are co-collaborators in our ongoing exhibition, ‘A Forest in the City: Living Within Sanjay Gandhi National Park/Aarey Colony in Mumbai’
