JEHANGIR NICHOLSON ART FOUNDATION
Durgabai Vyam, a folk artist and a Padmashree owner taught participants the basics of Gond painting. After, they created their own unique Gond artworks.
About the facilitator:
Durgabai and Subhash 's works are part of the Jaya He Museum at the Mumbai International Airport. They have participated in several large scale exhibitions including the Kochi Biennale in 2018.
This workshop was part of the outreach for our exhibition ‘Woman Is As Woman Does’ which featured their work ‘Bhimayana’, a book on the story of Ambedkar narrated in the Gond tradition.
